i live in a house with four girls. one of them is four legged and named scout, but there are four of us sharing a 1910 3 bedroom. right now there even happens to be five with hailey visiting for the summer. the normal crew all went to college together and scout joined last january. one bedroom is massive and belongs to annie and scout. the other two are tiny. like made for ants, barely fit a queen and small dresser, tiny. myself and laura each have one of these. i tinker with mine all the time but laura's needed a boost.
she gave me a budget, a pinterest board of ideas, and the want for dark floral bedding. but first, i had to clean out the space and figure out where to start. laura had not really decorated since we moved in a year ago. additionally, her space didn't function.
i love the exposed brick walls the apartment has so i knew i wanted to move the bed to that wall. i'm also a firm believer on two nightstands so i needed to find those and accents for them. laura had existing art that wasn't framed so i wanted to frame and accent those. she also had a great existing dresser and console table, so i just needed to get those new knobs for a custom feel and make them usable.
i love the way the room looks now and it actually functions for laura! i didn't even paint. like i said before, i love the brick so i wanted to make it shine. her bedding is anthropologie's agneta quilt and standard shams. the euro shams are ikea SENELA and an ikea VITFJÄRIL accent pillow with another existing pillow she had. there is a bedskirt hiding new under bed bins for extra storage and her sheets are target. she has new bedside tables from world market topped with ikea lamps most similar to these. she also got an ikea RENS sheepskin to keep her toes warm when she gets out of bed. i switched out all of her dresser knobs -these ones went on the red dresser and these on her blue console table. on the console table i used her existing bedside table woven baskets for extra storage and hung a mirror over it so she could do makeup as needed. i simply styled the built in nook with all things she had and framed some prints she had of the places she has lived to go above the bed. we covered up the closet with a target curtain and got her a nice looking laundry basket. everything has a place now and looks awesome for laura. yay!
